Overclocking

The Aorus Engine does have the Nvidia Scanner functionality built in, but at least with the sample/software version we tested, it doesn’t yet work. Once again, then, we settled for a standard manual overclock.

The peak power and temperature limits on this card are 111 percent and 88°C, which we set along with the maximum available GPU voltage setting.

In the end, we settled on an overclock of 175MHz, giving us base and boost clocks of 1,525MHz and 1,825MHz respectively. In-game boost speeds were approximately nine percent faster with this overclock applied, hovering between 1,830MHz and 1,875MHz.

The memory was stable at 15.6Gbps, which is 11 percent more than the stock 14Gbps speed.
